Invisalign, What Makes It Different From Traditional Braces?

 In Uncategorized

When it comes to creating a beautiful smile, there are many options to choose from. Two common choices are traditional braces, and Invisalign. But with these options, come questions. When trying to choose the right option for you, a few questions may pop up. For example, which is most affordable, or which is the most effective? Regardless of the investment, the ultimate goal is choosing the treatment that will get the job done. Ultimately, you will want lasting results.

Although Invisalign first began in 2000 and doesn’t quite yet have the same history that braces do, it’s still an option you should consider. Invisalign and braces were both designed to straighten crooked teeth while also improving your smile and overall oral health.

Invisalign was created and designed to be virtually invisible. The aligner trays are made of comfortable, smooth clear plastic that are BPA-free. This plastic is worn over your teeth which gently moves them. Your dentist will use X-rays, images, and impressions to create a very precise 3D image of your teeth which will help to configure your Invisalign aligner trays appropriately.

As I’m sure you know braces are made of wires, brackets, and small rubber bands. The brackets are glued down to your teeth and then tied together with wires and the rubber bands. You have the choice to either have fun with color or making them less noticeable with a color that is similar to the color of your enamel. Traditional braces will require more appointments and appointment times as the wires will need to be changed and adjusted throughout your orthodontic treatment.

In comparison, the race is pretty close, but Invisalign also has a few more appealing factors. They’re removable making you able to brush and floss naturally, as well as eat and drink as you normally would. With Invisalign you wont have to worry about food getting caught in-between your wires or worry about what you can and can’t eat. Invisalign is simple and seems to be a more desirable option in our opinion.
